
PRESS STATEMENT
The appeal to the Ministry of Internal Affairs to
light up the circumstances
under which Cvijan
Radic was murdered
According to the statement of a witness, a body
was found in the Crno jezero in the Bosanska
Dubica vicinity on 07 February 1997. The body was
later identified as Cvijan Radic, born in 1953 in
Bosanska Dubica.
Cvijan Radic, of Serb nationality, was employed
as a civil engineering inspector up until the
beginning of the war. When the war began he was
appointed to the Bihac Municipality Commission
for Housing of Refugees.
In autumn 1994, Radic left the Bihac district
area with the permission of the military and
civilian authorities. According to some sources,
he has lived in Banja Luka since then.
At the beginning of February 1997, Radic arrived
in Bihac. According to a witness from the
doorman's booth of the Bihac municipality, whose
testimony wasn't confirmed, two unidentified men
took away Radic on 3 February 1997. The first
news about Radic's death appeared on 5 February.
The Helsinki Committee for Human Rights is
requesting that the Police investigate this
murder, inform the public and bring the
perpetrators to justice.
